I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years experience counseling children, adolescents and adults. During these years, I have helped people from diverse ethnic, religion, and socioeconomic backgrounds with personal and family challenges. My specialties includes EAP and emotional disturbance: Hyperactivity (short attention span, impulsiveness); Aggression or self-injurious behavior (acting out, fighting); Withdrawal (not interacting socially with others, excessive fear or anxiety); depression, anxiety, and trauma. I am Certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Certified in Life Space Intervention.
In my undergraduate studies, I double-majored in Political Science and Sociology. I obtained a Master's in School Counseling from Long Island [email protected] Post. In 2015, I completed my doctoral degree in the Interdisciplinary Educational Study Doctoral Program with a specialization in educational leadership, research design, and motivational theories. My dissertation, “What Makes Students With Emotional Disturbance Stay In School and Graduate?” looked at motivational factors using the theoretical framework of Alderfer’s Existence, Relatedness, and Growth (ERG) theory.
